”Time to get up you lousy maggots! There are duties to be done and they won’t wait for you to sleep!” Sergeant major Sturnn roars out in the garrison’s corridors and knocks hard upon the steel doors with his fist as he walks by waking up the sleeping men in their cabin’s.

“You have ten minutes before this platoon moves out, so you better be ready by then! Those chimeras won’t wait!” Sergeant Dokan roars almost as loud as door after door opens up with sleepy guardsmen drag themselves out to get a shower and pick up their gears.

“That’s what you say every morning serge!” Corporal Logan spits out, gaining the first laughs for the morning while picking up his snow gears and his carbine from its holder.

Dokan only gives him a slight and tempered look before going on with his tour.

This is quite common site to see during the mornings within the barracks of Auterion and no wonder in that matter. The planet is icy cold with its temperatures always remaining below -20 degrees, so no surprise that there aren’t many who would want to leave to outside from the warm barracks and other garrison buildings; yet they have little choice in the matter. Auterion is a mining world with its mines locating below the planet’s surface from where raw materials are dug up and sent to the use of many imperial worlds, yet only few guardsmen are allowed to go into those mines and as such most have to get use to the planet’s weather at surface where the main military facilities and defenses are.

Then upon the sound of laughing and preparing men comes a chilling echo of well known footsteps. Everything and everyone within the garrison fell silent momentarily as the sound grows louder and comes closer until the wheel upon the door hatch begins to turn, creaking all the way before the door opens. From behind it appears a dark figure staring into the hallway, while blowing a smoke away from his cigar.

Everyone stares at the direction of the door before a low and cruel sounding voice says out “carry on ladies… You have seven minutes left to get aboard of those transports or do you miserable whelps want me to remind you what you are here for?”

He is not answered, while the men in the hallway pick up a pace.

“Sergeant major! Commander Heinkel requests you audience.” The man says out from the door looking at him with almost soulless looking eyes.

“Understood commissar Stern! I shall go to him as soo…” Sturnn says saluting before Stern cut him off “It is Lord commissar to you sergeant and I meant now!” saying it loudly upon the noise and heading to right.

“Sergeant Dokan! You are in charge here until I return.” He says out.

“Very well Sergeant major, but may I recommend not getting on that man’s nerves.” He says with slight warning coming from his voice.

“I’m trying not to, that you can be sure.” He shouts out as he runs after Stern…
So little bit Imperial guard fluff with familiar characters from my Guard Logs, although this takes place far before those events.

Every Guardsmans worst nightmare, seeing a Commissar, only downside is they can't show it or get blammed. AKA shot in the head.
